Empowering Change Through Peer Support
At Life Quest, we believe in the power of lived experience to foster growth, resilience, and recovery. Peer support is rooted in connection, mutuality, and the understanding that healing happens in relationship.
Our Peer Support Learning Community is designed for individuals who feel called to support others through challenges related to addiction, mental health, and recovery.
This is not a traditional training program. It is a peer-led space where individuals come together to learn, reflect, and grow through shared experience.
How It Works
Participants are invited to engage with the 16-module Peer Connect curriculum at their own pace, while participating in a weekly peer-led discussion space.
Online Modules
Participants independently work through the Peer Connect curriculum, exploring topics such as connection, boundaries, communication, trauma-informed practice, and recovery.
Weekly Peer-Led Learning Circles (Virtual)
A one-hour weekly gathering where participants reflect on the material, share insights, and learn from one another. These sessions are facilitated to support connection and dialogue; not instruction.
Peer Community
Participants become part of a growing community of individuals committed to learning and supporting one another. This space continues beyond the modules, offering connection, shared learning, and encouragement.
A Pathway Forward
For those who wish to continue beyond the learning community, Life Quest is developing a Peer Support Worker Certification pathway.
This pathway includes:
Completion of the 16 modules
Ongoing participation in the learning community
A competency-based assessment
An interview process
Participants who successfully complete this process may be considered for:
Practicum placement opportunities
Contract roles through Life Quest Society
Ongoing Support: Supervision & Peer Mentoring
A key part of the Life Quest Certification pathway is ongoing supervision and peer mentoring, designed to help you continue growing in your role as a Peer Support Worker.
Peer support work is deeply relational and can bring up both meaningful and challenging experiences. Supervision offers a dedicated space for you to pause, reflect, and stay grounded in your practice.
Through ongoing supervision, you will have the opportunity to:
Reflect on your experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental space
Strengthen your confidence and decision-making in real-world situations
Develop clarity around boundaries and your role as a PSW
Continue building your skills through shared learning and discussion
Stay connected to the core values of peer support
This is not about evaluation; it is about support, growth, and sustainability in the work.
Supervision is included as part of the certification process and continues to be an important part of ongoing professional development.
To maintain certification, Peer Support Workers will be asked to complete 30 hours of supervision every three years. This ensures continued reflection, learning, and connection to the values that guide peer support practice.
You don’t have to do this work alone.
Organizations partnering with Life Quest can be confident that Life Quest PSWs are not only trained, but supported in their ongoing development.
Who This Is For
This community is ideal for individuals who:
Have lived or living experience with addiction, mental health, and recovery
Feel a desire to support others
Are open to learning through reflection and shared experience
Value connection, curiosity, and mutual support
Why Peer Support?
Peer support offers a non-clinical, relationship-based approach to supporting others. It is grounded in shared experience, respect, and self-determination, where individuals walk alongside one another rather than “fixing” or directing.
